Due to a manufacturing issue, the lower frame rail clamp may not have been adequately secured to the rear brake line allowing the line to contact the exhaust. If this occurs, the brake line could become damaged over time and rear brake fluid may leak causing a reduction in braking performance.

Due to a manufacturing issue, the rear shock absorber adjuster mounting bolt may break. As a result, the shock absorber adjuster could loosen and contact the rear tyre causing a loss of air pressure.

Due to a software issue, the brake light may remain illuminated when the brakes are not applied. If this occurs, the traffic behind the vehicle will be unable to identify if the motorcycle is actually braking.

Due to a software issue related to the internal temperature of the instrument cluster, if the temperature of the instrument cluster is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius), the speedometer and neutral indicator may not display as intended. If this occur an error warning message will appear to warn the rider.

If the passenger grab rail is used while deploying the centre stand the seat base may become loose. As a result, it could cause the passenger grab rail to fracture.

2020 HARLEY DAVIDSON LIVEWIRE

The software in the On-Board Charging (OBC) System on affected motorcycles may initiate a shutdown of the electric vehicle powertrain, without providing reasonable indication to the rider that a shutdown sequence has been initiated. In some cases, the vehicle may not be able to be restarted or, if restarted, may shortly thereafter shut down again. In some cases, indicator lamps may be illuminated on the instrumentation prior to loss of propulsion. These indicator lamps include: The Traction Control (TC) lamp, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) lamp, and the Failure Indicator Lamp (FIL).

The electro-hydraulic control unit (EHCU) software may respond incorrectly to a faulty rear wheel speed signal by activating one of the rear brakes.

Over time, the brake calipers may experience corrosion in the caliper bore area. This corrosion could result in the pistons dragging in the caliper bore.

2016–2018 HARLEY DAVIDSON CVO TOURING & CVO SOFTAIL

There may be an internal leak within the hydraulic clutch system on affected motorcycles. If this leak continues for an extended period, the clutch master cylinder reservoir could lose enough fluid to expose the hydraulic clutch circuit to air. This may result in being unable to disengage the clutch.

2007–2012 HARLEY DAVIDSON TOURING, CVO & VRSC

On the affected model motorcycles, if the brake fluid is not flushed for a prolonged period of time beyond the 2 year schedule specified in the Owner’s Manual and Service Manual, a braking issue may develop.

Due to the design of the bracket, the LED controller may come in contact with the oil filter. Over time, this contact can lead to a hole in the oil filter and a possible oil leak. This condition might cause excessive oil to get on the rear tyre, causing a loss of traction, possibly leading to a crash and potential injury or death.

The acorn stud at the brake reaction link may fall out during use. If this occurs the front brake and fender assembly would no longer be adequately retained. This condition could lead to a crash and potential injury or death to the rider.

2007–2008 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXDSE2

Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc. has determined that some of these model motorcycles may have been shipped with an incorrect Australian Noise Label part number 14000-07. The label inaccurately lists 93dbA @ 2675 RPM whereas it should show 99dbA @ 3750 RPM.

The Jiffy stand that is fitted to these vehicles may have been built with a defective weld that may allow the Jiffy stand assembly to not retract as intended. This condition could lead to a crash which could cause injury or death to the rider.
