During filling of the petrol tank, an electrostatic charge may accumulate in the plastic fuel filler pipe which is electrically non conductive. This may result in fuel vapour flame flash during refueling.

The defect appears to be in the mounting face of these rims being bent during manufacture and allowing the wheel nuts to loosen as the trailer is towed on the road. This can cause the wheel studs to break and the wheel to detach from the trailer.
