Due to a design defect, the water pump can create a vacuum within the electrical area of the pump. This could cause liquid from the coolant system to permeate the housing of the water pump and damage the electrical circuitry which could cause a vehicle fire. Note: In the event that the Engine Management Light illuminates, or smoke is detected, owners should stop the vehicle where it is safe to do so, turn off the ignition, evacuate the vehicle and contact your nearest retailer immediately.
