The routing of the engine harness may not provide sufficient clearance and as a result, allow contact with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) casting bracket. Vehicles included in a previous safety Recall P075 have received a modification which has subsequently been determined as not durable for the life of the vehicle. As a result, the engine harness contact with the EGR casting bracket can cause the wires within the engine harness protective sleeve to wear through, exposing the actual wires which may short circuit to the metal bracket added as part of the Recall P075 repair.
