It is possible the Axilok rear wheel spindle nuts on rear drive axles of certain Sterling A/L-Line trucks built at the St. Thomas plant between 2 April 2007 and 20 June 2007 may have been improperly installed. In this case one or both locking clip tabs may not be engaged properly or are damaged. If so, this could reduce the nut's ability to resist rotation and potentially allow the nut to back off and cause the dual wheel set to separate from the vehicle without prior warning.

Bendix estimates that the wear-through breakage can occur after a year or more service. Parker SCV's manufactured between July 2002 and July 2007 are affected. 07E-037. A component supplier made unauthorized changes to its manufacturing process, which may cause intermittent improper seating in the check valve.
