Some G650 Xchallenge motorcycles left the factory with the wrong circlip installed on the left-hand side of the rear wheel-bearing guide. The result can be that this circlip rubs against the spacing bushing. The particles of metal removed by friction can penetrate the wheel bearing and cause failure. There is also the possibility of incorrect sensor signals causing the ABS to malfunction. If this happens the ABS warning light comes on, alerting the rider to the situation. Even under these circumstances, the brakes remain fully available to slow the motorcycle.
