The inner cover of the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) may not have been sealed correctly to the TPS outer casing. If this is the case, the adhesive area may crack when the TPS screws are tensioned. If a crack is present, water may enter. If this happens, the TPS signal to the Engine Control Unit will be incorrect causing poor idle, engine stalling and hard re starting

There is a possibility that the latches securing the saddlebags to the vehicle may break if large force is applied. Continued use of the vehicle with the saddlebag latch broken could result in the saddlebag becoming detached from vehicle creating the potential for an accident.

Some G650 Xchallenge motorcycles left the factory with the wrong circlip installed on the left-hand side of the rear wheel-bearing guide. The result can be that this circlip rubs against the spacing bushing. The particles of metal removed by friction can penetrate the wheel bearing and cause failure. There is also the possibility of incorrect sensor signals causing the ABS to malfunction. If this happens the ABS warning light comes on, alerting the rider to the situation. Even under these circumstances, the brakes remain fully available to slow the motorcycle.
