When braking using the retarder in vehicles equipped with EDC and Scania retarder but without ABS, it is possible to disengage the retarder by activating the accelerator pedal. The retarder is reactivated when the accelerator pedal is released.

The emission plates located on thr rocker on 16 litre engines have been incorrectly marked during production. The plates have the wrong smoke data but the right part number. The plates for DC1601 engine were marked with the smoke data from the DC1602.

The bracket supporting the splash guard for the brake valve assembly can cause inadvertent application of the trailer brake. This happens if the splash guard cracks. The bracket can then twist rearwards and damage the brake line.
