Defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the spare wheel tray or lifter may have been incorrectly positioned. This may cause the support cable to wear and fracture resulting in the spare wheel detaching from the vehicle whilst driving.

Hazard

If the spare wheel detaches from the vehicle whilst driving, it could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred BYD Dealer to make an appointment to get the work carried out, free of charges. For further assistance, owners of affected vehicles can call BYD Customer Care Centres on 1800 888 293.
