Defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, there may be insufficient clearance between a bulkhead mounting bolt and the fuel tank. This may lead to a fuel or fuel vapour leak and in the presence of an external ignition source could result in a vehicle fire.

Hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing by Ford to request they contact an authorised Ford dealer to arrange inspection and repair, free of charge. For further information, please contact any authorised Ford Dealer or call us on 13 FORD (13 3673) and one of our Customer Relationship representatives will be happy to help you.
