Defect

Due to a software issue, the vehicle’s Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) may not activate. If this occurs, pedestrians and other road users may be unaware of the vehicle’s approach.

Hazard

Vehicles are non-compliant with Australian Design Rule 113/00 - Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems for Quiet Road Transport Vehicles.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Chery in writing asking them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have the rectification carried out, free of charge.
