Defect

Due to a design defect, fuel spilled into the fuel filler pocket whilst refuelling can come in contact with an ignition source resulting in a vehicle fire. Note: General Motors advises owners to always follow the fuelling instructions detailed in their owner’s manual.

Hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd asking them to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out, free of charge.
