Defect

Due to a software issue with the Shift Control Unit (SCU), the parking pawl may fail. This could result in vehicle moving or rolling away whilst the vehicle is engaged in the park position.

Hazard

If the vehicle moves from it’s parked position while unattended, it may increase the risk of a crash causing injuries to others and possible damage to property.

Remedy

Owners can contact their preferred authorised Kia dealer to have the SCU software updated, free of charge.
