Defect

A software update issue may lead to an engine failure whilst driving and a red Check Control message "Drive faulty” may also appear.

Hazard

A sudden loss of engine power increases the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their authorised BMW Dealer to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out free of charge. You can locate your closest authorised BMW Dealer at www.bmw.com.au/dealers or call the BMW Australia Recall Hotline on 1800 243 675. For further information and to contact a preferred authorised BMW Dealer service centre via the web, consumers can also utilise the BMW Australia recall webpage and using either the vehicle's VIN or registration, check to see if the vehicle has an outstanding safety recall or technical action. www.recall.bmw.com.au
