Defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the locking mechanism on the front doors may not latch and could remain stuck in the open position.

Hazard

If the latch becomes stuck in the open position, the door can open while driving. This could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their authorised Volkswagen Dealer to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out at no cost.
