Defect

The threaded nut connecting the brake servo and brake pedal may not meet manufacturing specifications. Should the threaded nut become loose the brake pedal will no longer function leading to a reduction in braking performance and handling of the vehicle.

Hazard

A loss of braking performance will increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Remedy

Owners should contact their nearest Volkswagen Dealer to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out at no cost.
