Category: Light Vehicle ยท Supplier: Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd
Recall date: 27 May 2018
The connector pins to the airbag control unit may have been manufactured incorrectly. This may cause a higher resistance of the wiring over time, potentially causing the passenger seat occupation classification system to be deactivated.
This may result in the deactivation of the passenger side frontal airbag. The restraint function for the front passenger seat occupant may also be reduced in an accident where the airbags are triggered, posing a greater risk of injury.
Affected owners should contact their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer to arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle.
