Defect

Moisture may penetrate the electric power steering control unit. This may interfere with signal transmission in the control unit and cause the steering power assistance to fail.

Hazard

Increased risk of an accident.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and be asked to contact their Mercedes-Benz dealer to make arrangements for the vehicle to be checked and rectified. Further information about the recall can be obtained from any Mercedes-Benz dealership.
