Defect

On affected vehicles manufactured with a specific period, foreign particles in the coolant may lead to a blockage in the additional coolant pump and cause the pump to overheat.

Hazard

In isolated cases, if not repaired, the overheated coolant pump has a potential to catch fire.

Remedy

Owners will be contacted by direct mail. Owners should contact their nearest Audi Dealer to arrange for an inspection and update of the software on the engine control unit to adjust the activation and diagnosis of the additional coolant pump.
