Defect

Improper Cell Motor Unit (CMU) judgment of changes to the temperature and voltage of the main traction battery can occur when the vehicle is rolling backwards.

Hazard

In the worst case scenario, the vehicle may not accelerate forward but roll backwards when on an incline, posing an accident risk for the vehicle occupants.

Remedy

Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail and advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred dealer to have software of the Cell Motor Unit (CMU) upgraded.
