Defect

The circuit board for the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system may have been damaged during its manufacturing process, potentially resulting in the illumination of the EPS warning lamp and loss of power steering assistance.

Hazard

The loss of power steering assistance will increase the steering effort at low speeds which may increase the risk of an accident.

Remedy

Owners will be contacted by mail asking consumers to present their vehicle to a Toyota Dealer.
