Category: Heavy Vehicle ยท Supplier: Toyota Motor Corporation
Recall date: 31 August 2011
In the affected vehicles, if the front tyre(s) are subjected to a large external force such as running over a large pot hole or bump in the road at high speed, there is a possibility that the steering wheels may vibrate. The degree of vibration may be inflenced by vehicle loading, tyre condition and wheel alignment.
In the worst case, vehicle controllability may be affected. The vibration diminishes as the vehicle's speed reduces, however.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by mail at their last known address. Toyota technicians will install a steering damper (and on some models a tie rod) to the affected vehicles. This will be performed at no cost to vehicle owners.
