Defect

In extreme cases the oil dipstick tube closing plug may leak.

Hazard

There is a possibility of oil contacting hot engine components.

Remedy

Letters will be sent to affected owners. Owners are advised to contact their authorised Mecedes-Benz dealership to have the oil dipstick tube closing plug replaced with a modified type, free of charge.
