Defect

In some instances the lubrication to the supply pump drive bearing may be insufficient.

Hazard

The bearing could seize causing damage to the power steering drive gear and in the worst case cause the engine to fail. Should this phenomenon occur the steering force required to operate the vehicle could increase and in some cases the engine could stall.

Remedy

IAL has a customer data base which has captured all retailed vehicles and will contact all owners by letter to notify them of the recall.
