Defect

A potential for the fuel pump relay to open circuit resulting in the engine stalling and being unable to restart. Throughout the manufacturing process of the fuel pump relay, sealand contamination of the relay coil occurred. When the relay is operative, the coil wire may fatigue and burnout due to repeated flexion by heat expansion and shrinkage caused by heat generation through the relay coil.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and arrangements made to have the countered fuel pump relay fitted.
