Defect

The steering system pinch bolts that secure the steering shaft from the steering gear to the L/H mitre box and the steering cross shaft located between both left and right mitre boxes may not have been properly torqued during manufacture.

Hazard

Steering failure.

Remedy

Contact your authorised Freightliner Dealer as soon as possible to arrange to have your vehicle inspected and rectified if required. When you contact your dealership refer to campaign number T306/99/A.
