Defect

The steering gear mounting bracket missed a machining process and the bolts that secure the steering gear may have incorrect thread penetration into the gear body, either or both of which may result in the mounting bolts becoming loose.

Hazard

Remedy

All owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and requested to return their vehicle to any authorised Freightliner Dealership where the rectification will be carried out free of charge. Any owner who has not received a letter is asked to contact their dealer.
