The component in the universal joint of the steering shaft was not manufactured to specifications. Which may restrict the ability to steer the vehicle over time.
If the steering does not perform as expected there is an increased risk of an accident resulting in injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz and are asked to make arrangements with their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible.
