Defect

In some vehicles the signal from the crankshaft position sensor may fail. This may result in an engine stall (loss of engine power), as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine.

Hazard

A sudden loss of engine power increases the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.

Remedy
