Defect

The bolts/nuts of the spare wheel carrier may not have been sufficiently tightened. As a result the bolts/nuts may become loose due to vibration while driving. If the bolts/nuts come off, the spare wheel carrier and the spare wheel may detach from the vehicle.

Hazard

If the spare wheel carrier falls off it may become a hazard and result in an accident causing injury or death to other road users or bystanders.

Remedy

Affected owners will be contacted by direct mail and advised to contact their nearest Volvo Group Australia repairing dealer to arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle if required.
