Category: Heavy Vehicle ยท Supplier: Isuzu Australia Limited
Recall date: 13 April 2010
Isuzu Motors Japan have identified that the fuel cut off valves may not seal to their design intent. This is due to a variation in tolerances during production.
A small amount of gas could leak (Leak amount: Converted to atmospheric pressure Max. 400cc/min). The leaked gas could backflow through the intake duct, through the air filter and be discharged from the engine intake. There is the potential for the gas to be sucked into the cabin through a nearby air inlet. If a vehicle is used in such a condition there is the possibility for a fire in the cabin of the vehicle.
Owners will be contacted by IAL directly by registered letters. Owners will be provided details of the recall and requested to arrange for rectification where possible by their selling Isuzu Truck Dealer.
