Defect

On Scirocco R vehicles, of a certain production period, the speed indicated does not reflect the true speed of the vehicle. The difference occurs between 100 km/h and 180 km/h.

Hazard

The speedometer may under-represent the actual road speed, which can cause a driver to unknowingly exceed a safe speed. This may be a contributing factor in an accident or pose a hazard to other road users.
