Defect

On Caddy vehicles of a limited production period, the front backrest padding may have been fitted incorrectly. In the event of a collision, the side airbags may not adequately deploy.

Hazard

The front side airbags may not provide the vehicle occupants with adequate protection and increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

Remedy

Volkswagen will be contacting affected consumers. Owners of affected vehicles can also contact the Volkswagen Recall Campaign Hotline on 1800 504 076 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am-8pm AEST) or visit: https://www.volkswagen.com.au/app/locals/find-dealer to arrange inspection of their vehicle.
