Defect

The laser welded seam on the front seat backrests may not have been correctly configured during production, which may impact on the strength of the welded connection.

Hazard

This could potentially lead to injuries sustained by the vehicle occupants in the event of a serious rear collision.

Remedy

Consumers will be contacted by mail. Consumers should contact their nearest Volkswagen Dealer to arrange for inspection and repair. For any queries or concerns please contact Volkswagen Group Australia Customer Experience Centre on 1800 607 822.
