Defect

In the event of an accident the front left side airbag may not deploy correctly because of an incorrectly folded airbag.

Hazard

The effectiveness of the front left side airbag may be reduced which may increase the risk of injury to the occupants of the front passenger seat in the event of a collision.

Remedy

A letter is being sent to affected owners of the vehicles. For further information, customers can contact their local Volkswagen Authorised Service Centre or contact Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 504 076.
