Defect

In the event of airbag deployment during an accident the fabric of the side airbag may tear.

Hazard

The effectiveness of the side airbag may be reduced which could increase the risk of injury to the occupants of the vehicle.

Remedy

A letter is being sent to affected owners of the vehicles. For further information, customers can contact their local Volkswagen Authorised Service Centre or contact Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 504 076
