Defect

The adjuster nut for the handbrake lever can loosen. This may prevent the handbrake from being fully applied.

Hazard

If the handbrake lever cannot be fully applied, it may lead to an increased risk of accident and injury to occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

Remedy

Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles. Consumers should contact their nearest Volkswagen Dealer to arrange for inspection and repair.
