Recall date: 15 February 2018
The engine management software on these Thruxton model motorcycles may not always prevent 'blip stalling'; the ability to maintain a stable engine idle when the throttle is opened and closed ('blipped') very quickly with the clutch disengaged.
Engine stalling presents an increased risk of a loss of control of the vehicle. This could increase the risk of an accident and injury to the rider or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.
Owners of affected motorcycles will be contacted by Triumph. Owners should then contact their nearest Triumph dealer to arrange for a new version ECM calibration software to be downloaded into the affected Thruxton model vehicles. This new version calibration software Service Fix will be free of cost to vehicle owners.
