Defect

The poor electrical connection may cause the vehicle to lose power assistance for the steering of the vehicle.

Hazard

If the power assistance for the steering is lost the vehicle retains manual steering capability. However, the loss of power steering assistance will increase the steering effort required at low speeds which may increase the risk of an accident.

Remedy

Known owners will be contacted by mail and asked to present their vehicle to their preferred Subaru Retailer for the replacement of the resolver harness and EPS ECU at no charge.
