Category: Heavy Vehicle ยท Supplier: Unknown
Recall date: 12 May 2014
Due to a production error, the rivets fitted to affected seatbelt pre-tensioners were installed with excessive force. As a result, an affected rivet may become loose and pull-out and the pawl (locking lever) may drop-out of position. In such cases, the loose rivets may allow an audible sound to be heard from the seatbelt. As a consequence, there is the remote possibility that in seatbelts where the pawl (locking lever) drops-out of position, their seatbelts may not lock appropriately.
In the event an affected vehicle is involved in a collision, the seatbelt/s will not restrain the occupant/s and as a result they may be injured.
A letter will be sent to owners of affected vehicles
