Category: Light Vehicle ยท Supplier: Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd
Recall date: 8 February 2017
The structure of the front deck of the vehicle allows water intrusion onto the windshield wiper motor, which is drawn into the motor's breather hole as it cools down after use. This can cause internal parts of the front windshield wiper motor to rust or seize up and the wipers may become inoperative.
If the front windshield wipers fail, driver visibility in wet weather would be affected, possibly causing an accident.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail, advising them to contact their local dealer to arrange an inspection and possible replacement of the front windshield wiper motor. Consumers who require further information should contact their local Mitsubishi dealer or call Mitsubishi Motors Australia on 1300 131 211.
