Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has identified that insufficient anti corrosion coating was applied to the end cap on the outer tube of the tailgate gas springs, and this may result in corrosion.
Corrosion may result in the end cap breaking and hitting the operator and/or the tailgate falling down suddenly and this may result in an injury or a potential accident.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail and advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred dealer to have replacement parts installed, free of charge.
