Defect

A weld seam has been improperly applied to out-of-line axle housings during the production process.

Hazard

This may cause oil leakage and cracking of the rear axle. In the worst case breakage can occur, causing the vehicle to stop during use, posing an accident risk to the driver and other road occupants.

Remedy

Owners are requested to take their vehicle to an authorised Mercedes-Benz Truck Dealership for an inspection and repair of the vehicle.
