Defect

The plastic flap on top of the airbag may tear off during the activation of the front passenger airbag.

Hazard

If the plastic flap on top of the airbag tears off, the front passenger airbag may not adequately restrain the passenger. The plastic flap may also be propelled (as a single part or in splintered parts) from the dash into the vehicle's interior, increasing the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.
