Defect

On some vehicles, the shape of the teeth on the parking brake sector gear may not meet specification.

Hazard

Engagement between the sector gear and ratchet may be suddenly lost while the parking brake is applied, potentially causing unexpected movement of the vehicle if parked on a slope.

Remedy

Consumers will be advised to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda Dealer for the replacement of the parking brake lever at no charge. Consumers who require further information should contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411 or via email on customersupport@mazda.com.au
