Defect

The cable length of the rear door lock assemblies may be out of specification. As a result an active child lock can unnoticeably be inactive. This may lead to the rear doors being operable from inside the vehicle.

Hazard

An occupant may be able to inadvertently open a rear door from the inside with the child lock on, potentially increasing the risk of injury to occupants inside the vehicle or other road users.

Remedy

Customers will be contacted by direct mail and they should contact their nearest Kia Dealer to arrange an inspection and repair free of charge.
