Defect

The Front Under-Run Protection Device (FUPD) may collapse if involved in a frontal collision. The vehicle does not comply with the Australian Design Rule 'Vehicle Standard (ADR 84/00 - Front Underrun Impact Protection) 2009'.

Hazard

If the device collapses when impacted with a vehicle, there is a greater chance of the vehicle being pulled under the truck, which can pose a greater accident hazard for road users and cause serious injury or fatality to vehicle occupants.

Remedy

Owners should contact their nearest Isuzu Truck dealership to arrange for vehicles to have Stiffener brackets fitted. For further information, contact the nearest Isuzu Truck Dealer or call our Customer Care Centre on 1800 035 640.
