Defect

The rear axle housing may have been assembled with an inclined flange and stress may be applied to the axle shafts and/or the hub bearings, resulting in failure.

Hazard

If stress is applied to the axle shafts and/or the hub bearings suffer a failure, the vehicle may not operate and could potentially cause an accident and serious injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Remedy

Affected owners will be contacted by direct mail and advised to contact their local Hino dealer to arrange inspection and replacement of rear axle housing where required, free of charge. Owners can contact Hino on 1300 014 466 or find their local Hino dealership at https://www.hino.com.au/dealer/
