Defect

The end cap of the After treatment device (ATD) may fail allowing hot exhaust gases to escape resulting in possible damage to components including the pneumatic brake lines.

Hazard

This may result in automatic application of the trailer brakes causing an accident hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

Remedy

Letters will be sent to owners of affected vehicles.
