Defect

On affected vehicles, engine vibration could cause timing belt tensioner spring failure, resulting in loss of engine timing. Loss of engine timing may lead to engine shutdown/damage.

Hazard

The sudden deceleration caused by engine shutdown, may increase the risk of accident and/or injury.

Remedy

Ford will write to owners of all affected vehicles. Owners are advised to contact their Ford authorised Dealership for inspection and rectification. For further information, contact any authorised Ford Dealer or Ford's Customer Relationship Centre on 1800 503 672.
