Category: Light Vehicle · Supplier: FCA Australia Pty Ltd
Recall date: 25 July 2016
The electronic shift lever in the vehicle does not move like a conventional shifter and the driver may inadvertently fail to correctly engage the “PARK” position before exiting the vehicle if the engine is left running.
If the vehicle isn't correctly engaged in the 'PARK' position it may roll away and potentially result in a crash and or injury to occupant or others.
FCA Australia will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealership whereby the vehicle will have work conducted to safe guard against the possibility that the vehicle is not properly put into the “PARK” position. Consumers should always check that their vehicle is in the PARK position and that the hand brake is applied before exiting the vehicle.
